In 1911, Romulo Paredes, a charismatic judge, arrives in Iquitos summoned by his friend, Judge Valcarcel, to investigate together some complaints of mistreatment in Casa Arana, the main exporter of rubber. Despite his doubts and fears, Paredes will carry the search for justice to the end, overcoming threats from the powerful Arana and his followers, managing to stop his operations and the exploitation of the indigenous people of the area.
