Chinini Films is the audiovisual production company created by the actor, screenwriter and director Samuel Sunderland and the screenwriter and creative producer Carla Arata Azcarate, with the objective of developing projects (series, short films and feature films) that entertain and tell relevant, current and high-impact stories.

Our team
Carla Arata Azcarate
Creative Producer, screenwriter and founder of Chinini Films. Has a medical doctor title, a master’s degree in management, an MBA and an international master's degree in marketing. He has worked mainly in project direction and management, as well as in commercial and marketing areas in companies such as MSD, Novartis and L'Oréal. She participated in the UCLA Executive Production Program and the ENACC Executive Production Diploma in Bogota, Colombia. She has been Executive Producer of the short films Distancia (2020), Puñalada (2021) and Deceit (2023).
In 2022, she created the production company Chinini Films to develop audiovisual projects with a positive impact on society.
As a screenwriter, she was selected to participate in the renown LabGuion in 2025 with the psychological thriller “Unsettled”, and had won the Economic Award for Fiction Feature Films in Development from DAFO Peru, with the drama “The Name of the Devil”.
Samuel Sunderland
Actor, screenwriter and director, with experience in film, theater and television. He began his artistic career very young, at age 11, in Lima, Peru. He participated as an actor in theater plays, as well as in various peruvian films such as “Guerrero”, “Sí, mi amor”, among others. His experience on television includes hosting the program “Casaventuras” and then playing a leading role in the successful series “De Vuelta al Barrio” for 5 seasons (2017 to 2021).
In 2020, he wrote, directed and starred in his first short film “Distancia”, continuing with Puñalada (2021), his second short film. Both short films were released on his YouTube channel with great comments from his followers and an important and positive response in the local media. His third short film, Deceit (2023), was produced by Chinini Films, and had an excellent run at international festivals.
